THIS is the Time

It's election day! To get me "in the mood" as they would say in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, I read a bit from the words of General George Washington's advice to the United States and found it exceptionally applicable for today.

This is the moment when we decide what kind of nation we'll have and what kind of place we'll make for our children. I'm so thankful to live in America and pray that today we will take a much needed step at restoring and preserving our freedom. To vote for right. To vote for goodness. To vote for liberty and give all the 'littles' a chance at life.

Too true, Amanda. Too true. It IS incredible how fitting our times are with the pre-founding of this nation, Under God.

As per the election, I ask you to see how befitting this quote now is:

"THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated."

I feel a great boost of confidence when I read this. I feel the RIGHTNESS of moving onward with a firmness of faith and a re-invigoration to be a light to others.

We can do this!
